We guarantee that all levels will leave with invaluable knowledge to level up their existing game Joey Ansah has had over 20 years of professional movie making experience with all aspects of pre-production, production and post-production. Working both in front of & behind the camera as an Actor, Writer, Director and fight choreographer. Attendees will be given a deep insight into his unique perspective and philosophy on action design. It is Joey’s belief that all fight scenes are ultimately: - Conceived by the Script writer. - Developed by the Action choreographer + Stunt team - Nuanced by the Director and Actors and Cinematographer - Injected life and personality by the Actors and Stunt performers and camera operators - Enhanced, curated and packaged by the Editor and Director - Signature secret sauce added in post-production by Composer and Sound design, colour grade and VFX work. A deep understanding of all of these roles and steps is necessary to truly deliver visionary action. Attendees will be given a crash course in storytelling- The action has to serve the motivations of the characters performing it! This seminar will examine concepts such as: - The ‘Rhythm of the Fight’: understanding tempo, cadence, flow and broken rhythm. - Fight trends, cliché, cool, brutal realism vs hyperreal cool. - Injecting emotional content: Tension, build up, anxiety, rage and revelation. - Shooting style philosophy: Hong Kong vs Hollywood - Action direction 101: Dos & Don’t’s, crossing the line - Fight performing: distancing and intention. Using the space. As a highlight, you will be treated to never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage from Street Fighter. - Joey has an extensive background in martial arts, with 35 years of experience in various styles including Wushu, Tae Kwon Do, Bujinkan Taijutsu, Capoeira, Boxing, Wing Chun, and Kali.

- Joey has worked with renowned actors and filmmakers such as Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth, Josh Hartnett, Christopher Mcquarie and Chris Nolan to name but a few!

- Joey has written, directed, and action designed officially licensed live-action projects based on the hit video game "Street Fighter," including "Legacy," "Assassin's Fist," and "Resurrection."

- Joey's talents have taken him internationally, choreographing and directing action in locations such as Mumbai, Pune, Holland, Cape Town, and Bulgaria.

- Joey has choreographed and action directed fights for the likes of Jean-Claude Van Damme in Alien Uprising and Scott Adkins in "Green Street Underground: Hooligans," in which Joey also co-starred.

- Joey has played roles and performed major set piece fight sequences in studio movies like "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "The Old Guard."

- Joey's breakout role came at the age of 23 in "The Bourne Ultimatum" as 'Desh,' co-starring alongside Matt Damon. Their fight scene in the Tangier apartment is considered one of the greatest movie fights of all time.

- Joey's exceptional action skills were recognized with a nomination for an MTV Movie Award for his performance in "The Bourne Ultimatum."

- Joey's career started at age 19, performing stunts in Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" as a League of Shadows Ninja.

Danny Leysner

Danny’s passion for filmmaking began young, having already shot several short films by age 16. An internship and courses in various aspects of filmmaking followed- leading to fulltime work in the business by age 19. A decade of shooting, directing & editing commercials, music videos and short films around the world culminated in Danny’s theatrical feature film debut as director of the movie ‘Suriname’. This marked the first time that Pathé had both financed and theatrically distributed a movie in the Netherlands. Danny’s connections and experience from shooting abroad make him well positioned and motivated to make feature films for both the international market and domestic.

Katrina Durden

Katrina Durden is an actress and fight specialist with over 10 years professional experience in the film, television and video games industry, working with some of the best fight teams and choreographers in the world. Past credits include Marvel’s Doctor Strange, Street Fighter: Resurrection, Shadow and Bone, Strike Back; with upcoming work including Red Sonja and Amazon’s Heads of State.

Kiran Pandé

Kiran Pandé has been working with fight choreogaphy for almost a decade and has choreographed and prevized fights for 3 feature films including Redcon -1 starring Mark Strange. He has also worked as a performer on films such as Marvel Eternals
